Who is Alejandra?

My main goal as a therapist is to help couples and individuals improve their relationships and cope with difficult situations. I utilize emotionally focused therapy and the Gottman Method to help bring couples’ relationships to a point of mutual understanding, support, and respect, regardless of their differences, such as intimacy issues, lack of connection, trust issues, affairs, and other marital issues.

I also focus on helping women thrive and achieve the best version of themselves as for a woman it is hard to balance work, family, interpersonal relationships and still have time left for self-care. As women, we are taught to give and take care of others, and at times we do not have space left for our own needs. I am here to help you identify tools to navigate and cope with your struggles with the ultimate goal of leading you towards finding balance in your life. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, unhealth relationships or trauma, I can help.. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Techniques, and Motivational Interviewing to help you achieve your goals.

I obtained my bachelor’s in psychology and my master’s degree in social work from the University of South Florida, and soon after became registered as a Provisionally Licensed Clinical Social Work (registered intern)I enjoy traveling because it leads to discovering new things I did not know. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and if we embrace change, wonderful things will happen.
